A great place to experience the world's highest tides is at Fundy National Park's Point Wolfe Beach. The moderate 11.2-kilometer round-trip trail leads from a parking lot through forest to the rocky beach. Arrive at low tide, and you can walk on the ocean floor. Some areas are muddy, but you can easily walk on the stones or climb on rocks.

POINT WOLFE BEACH (Alma) All You Need to Know BEFORE You Go

Point Wolfe Campground is one of four front-country campgrounds in Fundy National Park on the Bay of Fundy. Each campground has its own special character, and Point Wolfe is a bit more out of the way than the others. Because you have to pass through a small covered bridge to get to the camping area, it is restricted to vehicles under 24 feet long.

Boardwalk to the Beach

One of my favourite spots in Fundy National Park is Point Wolf Beach. Just before crossing the Point Wolf covered bridge, be sure to stop at the Red Chairs and enjoy the view. FUN FACT: There are about 60 covered bridges in New Brunswick. This one was built in 1992 and is 29m long. Arriving in the parking lot there are a few trail choices.

Dec 2022. The parking lot is huge compared to the beach, but the quiet waters offer a peaceful setting overlooking the river/Bay. While today was too cold for swimming, hiking, or picnics, those facilities await warmer weather. Enjoyed watching someone bring his dog for a little escape, and the dog had fun running up and down the sand.
